Terms of Service

These terms cover rides booked with Starlight Taxi, operated by Crossroads Tours of Oakhurst, CA (CA TCP 19427). By booking a ride or using this website, you agree to them. We've kept them short and in plain English.

Not an emergency service

In a medical emergency, call 911. We offer non-emergency rides to hospitals and clinics, but we are not an ambulance or medical provider. Our drivers can't give medical care, and a ride with us is not a substitute for emergency medical transport.

Booking

  • All rides are booked in advance by phone, text, WhatsApp, or email. As a licensed charter-party carrier, we operate on a pre-arranged basis.
  • A ride is confirmed once we've agreed with you on the pickup time, pickup and drop-off locations, and fare.
  • Please give us accurate pickup details and a phone number where we can reach you. If plans change, let us know as early as you can.

Fares & payment

  • Fares listed on this website are for standard trips and may change. Your fare is quoted and confirmed when you book; that quote is what you pay for the trip as booked.
  • A $25 minimum applies to all rides. A surcharge applies to rides after 8pm; we'll include it in your quote.
  • Shared per-person rates require at least 3 passengers traveling together on the same trip.
  • Extra stops, extended waiting, route changes, or extra passengers or luggage requested during the ride may change the fare. We'll tell you before any change.
  • Any park entrance, parking, or toll fees will be discussed when you book.
  • We accept cash, credit card, and Venmo. Card payments may be charged ahead of time from our office.

Cancellations & no-shows

Please let us know as soon as possible if you need to cancel or change a ride. If a driver has already been dispatched or arrives and can't reach you, we may charge for the trip to cover the driver's time and travel.

Delays & flights

Mountain roads are unpredictable. We'll always do our best to arrive on time, but we aren't responsible for delays caused by weather, traffic, road closures, chain controls, accidents, or other conditions outside our control. For airport trips, please book a pickup time that leaves a comfortable buffer before your flight. We aren't responsible for missed flights, connections, or reservations caused by such delays.

Riding with us

  • Everyone must wear a seatbelt. Children must ride in a child safety seat or booster where California law requires one. Please bring yours, or ask us when you book.
  • No smoking or vaping in our vehicles.
  • Service animals are always welcome. Please ask about pets when you book.
  • Riders are responsible for damage to the vehicle they cause, including cleaning costs for spills or illness.
  • For everyone's safety, a driver may refuse or end a ride if a rider is abusive, violent, unsafe, or breaking the law.

Belongings & lost items

Please check for your belongings before you leave the vehicle. If you leave something behind, call us and we'll do our best to return it, but we aren't responsible for personal items left in a vehicle.

Loyalty program

  • Your first ride earns a 50% credit, applied as 25% off your 2nd ride and 25% off your 3rd ride. After 10 rides, your next ride is free.
  • Rewards are per rider, can't be transferred, and have no cash value.
  • We may change or end the program at any time. If we do, we'll honor rewards you've already earned.

Liability

We carry the insurance required for licensed charter-party carriers in California. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as missed flights, events, or bookings, arising from a ride. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under California law that can't be waived.

This website

We try to keep the information on this site accurate, but fares, services, and hours may change without notice. Photos and content on this site belong to Crossroads Tours and may not be reused without permission. How we handle your information is covered in our Privacy Policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Starlight Taxi is licensed by the California Public Utilities Commission under TCP 19427.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top. The terms in effect when you book a ride apply to that ride.
